What to Pack

These are some general guidelines and a checklist to help you pack for your trip to Sao Paulo.

Layering is key to remaining comfortable while on an active trip. To achieve maximum comfort with minimum weight, you need versatile layers that mix and match to create the right amount of ventilation, insulation, and weather protection. Avoid cotton which does not insulate when wet. Synthetic materials that are quick drying are most suitable for hiking in a rainforest environment.

Weather

Expect everything from warm sun to rain. We can expect spring temperatures in Legado das Águas and PETAR (around 20°C/68°F during the day, cooler in the evening), as well as warmer temperatures in Lagamar.

On some hikes you will get wet, so, it is important to have the right shoes and the right clothes. In PETAR, it is mandatory to use light hiking shoes, hiking pants, and t-shirts that cover your stomach and shoulders.

You will arrive in spring, so you can expect sunny days. Is it recommended that you have sunblock shirts and good sun blocker cream. We will spend seven days in the biggest rainforest region in the world, don’t forget your bug repellent as well.
