Where will AdventureELEVATE take place?
AdventureELEVATE will be held at the Holiday Inn Portland - By the Bay, set along the beautiful shores of Casco Bay in Portland, Maine. Offering a waterfront view that extends to the Calendar Islands, the hotel's setting fully captures the beauty and culture of Portland, Maine. The Portland Arts District surrounds the hotel with the spectacular Old Port District just a short walk away.
Those traveling long distances can make use of the hotel's shuttle to take them to Portland International Jetport (PWM), Amtrak, the bus station and many other local destinations.

Arriving to Portland, Maine
Accessible by air, rail and road, Portland, Maine is easy to reach. Major airlines offer direct flights to the Portland International Jetway (PWM), and bus and rail service connects the area with numerous East Coast destinations.
By Air
Fly into the Portland International Jetport (PWM). Holiday Inn Portland - By the Bay offers a complimentary shuttle from PWM based on availability. Call the front desk when you arrive at +1 (207) 775-2311 to request a pick up and to check availability.
Another option is to fly into Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) which is just two hours South of Portland. Concord Coach Lines offers 16 daily bus transfers from BOS to Portland. Greyhound and Amtrak also offer daily bus and rail connections between Boston and Portland.
By Train
The Amtrak Downeaster offers train service five (5) times per day from Boston, Massachusetts and can easily be combined with other historic rail lines from other major cities such as New York (Acela Line) or Chicago (Lake Shore Limited).
By Bus (from Boston)
Concord Coach Lines offers 16 daily trips from Boston to Portland and will get you there in just over 2 hours. Greyhound also offers routes from Boston, New York and other major cities.
Parking
Overnight guests at the Holiday Inn - Portland By the Bay may park in the garage under the hotel at a rate of $15 per vehicle, per night.
Day guests may park in the external garage at a rate of $5 per vehicle, per day. Day guests who park under the hotel will be subject to full day/overnight parking prices.
Airport Transfers
The Holiday Inn Portland - By the Bay offers complimentary shuttle service from Portland International Jetway (PWM), the Amtrak station and local bus terminals to the hotel on a first-come, first-served basis. When your plane lands, or you arrive at the station, call the front desk at +1 (207) 775-2311 to check availability and request a ride. Other options include car rentals, rideshare, or taxi services.

Passports & Travel Visa
International visitors to the USA must carry a valid passport and, if required, a valid visa. For delegates who are citizens of countries that require a visa, the ATTA can provide you with an invitation letter to assist you in your visa application. Registered delegates only, fill out the Visa Letter Request Form. Your invitation letter will be delivered by email as a PDF file within five business days.
Please note that as of December 2022, proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for all non-citizen, nonimmigrant air passengers to the United States.
Climate
Weather in Portland, Maine in May averages in the high 64°F/18°C’s in the day and low 45°F/8°C’s in the evening. Be sure to wear layers and bring your rain gear. Portland gets an average of 13 rainy days in May. Check the weather closer to the event to pack accordingly for any adventures you may participate in.
Attire
As with all ATTA events, the attire is “Adventure Casual.” Adventure Casual means jeans or pants with a shirt or fleece, on occasion you may see a sport jacket or very casual dress. Portland, Maine is in the Eastern Time Zone of the United States. On 12 March 2023, the clocks in Portland will change from Eastern Standard Time (GMT-5) to Eastern Daylight Time (GMT-4).
