AdventureConnect: Seattle, Chasing Coral Film Screening

Join us for a special screening of the award-winning film Chasing Coral at Explorer X's Adventure Hub & Winery for an important AdventureConnect gathering. After the film, special guests Brad Nahill of SEE Turtles and Kurt Kutay of Travelers Against Plastic, will lead an invaluable discussion about the situation in our oceans and what the adventure travel industry can do to help. Chasing Coral follows a team of divers, photographers and scientists out to photograph the elusive process of coral bleaching, a phenomenon happening at an unprecedented rate around the world from warming ocean temperatures. The film took 3.5 years to make, features 500 hours of underwater footage, and submissions from over 30 countries. Chasing Coral was created in part by Larissa Rhodes and Mark Crawford, both of whom have been on ATTA Storytelling teams. The social networking portion of this AdventureConnect will take place prior to the film’s screening with wine and snacks being served. Plus there will be prizes! Our friends at The Manta Resort are giving away three nights on Pemba Island in Tanzania and there will be more opportunities to win gear and tours thanks to GRAYL, Eagle Creek, MSR, Seattle Mountain Biking Tours and Evergreen Escapes -- remember to bring your business cards for the draw! Space is limited. Registration will close when it is full.
