Media Application

Application Deadline: Submit your application by 15 December 2024. Selected delegates will be announced by mid-January 2025.

Thank you for your interest in applying to be considered to attend the AdventureELEVATE Latin America as an Official Media Delegate.

AdventureELEVATE Latin America gives attending media the opportunity to discover the unique natural and cultural resources and activities in Bonito, Brazil and the surrounding region.

Selected Official Media Delegates will have the opportunity to discover stories through an immersive multi-day adventure tour and connections with regional suppliers at Marketplace, as well as find inspiration in learning about the value and development of adventure travel through speakers and workshops at the event.

The final selected hosted official media delegates will receive: complimentary event registration, accommodations during the event, economy round-trip air, airport transfers, a multi-day Pre-Adventure and a Day of Adventure tour at no cost. Hosted media delegates are required to participate in a multi-day pre-adventure tour.

In the interest of maintaining a healthy dynamic of diverse business interests in the final event delegation, there is a limited maximum number of 5 Official Media delegate spots available.

Who should apply

The ATTA and our hosts are seeking 5 media delegates. We are considering media who have an active interest in creating and publishing stories about adventure, responsible, and sustainable travel in Brazil and Latin America who are specifically based in (and/or writing for audiences in):

    • United States
    • Canada
    • Europe (Germany, UK, France, Spain, Nordic countries)
    • Latin America

We aim to select a diverse group of media specializing in nature-focused and sustainable travel, including:

    • Freelance Journalists with a track record of publishing in leading lifestyle outlets or niche publications focusing on travel, adventure, or sustainability, reaching national or global audiences (print and digital).
    • Magazine, Newspaper, or Digital Editors from outlets that emphasize ecotourism, adventure, and sustainability themes with a broad readership.
    • Broadcast Journalists & Producers whose TV, radio, or podcast work covers ecotourism, adventure travel, or sustainable destinations.
    • Travel Content Creators (Influencers/Bloggers) with consistent, editorial content (i.e., non-sponsored posts) about adventure travel, nature, or cultural experiences, with a substantial and engaged following interested in sustainable travel.

Traveler Demographics: We are especially interested in media who write for ecotourism-focused families, couples, seniors, the LGBTQ+ community, and solo travelers.

Focus Areas of Interest: This event offers the chance to cover a range of themes, including:

  • Ecotourism and Sustainability
  • Wildlife & Birdwatching
  • Diving and Water Sports
  • Hiking/Trekking and Cycling
  • White-Water Rafting
  • Gastronomy and Cultural Tourism

Selected delegates will gain a comprehensive view of Bonito’s unique landscapes, rich ecosystems, and premier adventure experiences, promoting it as a top destination for nature-based travel.

Publishers, advertising sales representatives, personal or hobby bloggers, PR agency representatives, marketing agencies/content developers, and film/video producers are not eligible to apply as an official media delegate. Anyone with an interest in the global adventure travel industry may register to attend as a regular event delegate.

Schedule Overview

If selected, the entire trip will last 8-9 days, depending on the Pre-Adventure tour options (5 days in length) plus travel time from your point of departure. Media delegates will make their Pre-Adventure tour selections after completing their application and registration.

    • Pre-Adventure Tour Dates: Tuesday, 22 April to Saturday, 26 April 2025
    • Day of Adventure in Bonito: 27 April 2025
    • AdventureELEVATE Conference Dates: 28-29 April 2025
    • Return Departure Date: 30 April 2025

Media Benefits

Selected media delegates will receive:

    • Complimentary event registration
    • Official Media accreditation at ELEVATE
    • Accommodations at 3-star to mid-range hotels in Bonito (4 nights total)
    • Round-trip economy airfare to and from Bonito, Brazil
    • Ground transportation and meals within destination
    • Pre-Adventure (5 days: 22-26 April 2025)
    • Day of Adventure in Bonito: 27 April 2025
    • Entry to AdventureELEVATE conference sessions and networking events (28-29 April 2025)
    • Mandatory participation in Marketplace and the Media Peer to Peer Session
    • Travel costs to the destination will be covered for fully-hosted media with the requirement to participate in a Pre-Adventure and Day of Adventure. Fully-hosted Official Media are expected to publish stories and content about their experience on adventures and activate on social media within 24 months of participation. The ATTA and our hosts will track all media results from the event.

Please note that exact Pre-Adventure dates and itineraries may be subject to minor changes before publication.

Role and expectations if your application is selected:

All Official Media delegates are expected to be “working media” meaning whether a freelance journalist, editor, or travel content creator, you will be actively looking for stories and content for publication, using your influence to share your adventure experiences in and about the host destination, the adventure travel industry, and attending delegate’s destinations and products.

In addition, all official media delegates are:

    • Required to attend the Marketplace and media-specific sessions during the event,  designed to network with other delegates in facilitated and unfacilitated formats to connect traditional media with story ideas, and travel content creators with potential content partners. 
    • Expected to attend the FULL event (all conference days, no early departures).
    • Required to participate in a multi-day Pre-Adventure in Brazil.
    • Expected to be active on social media during the event and any related adventures.
    • Expected to answer surveys sent by the ATTA.
    • Follow local safety and health protocols and obtain travel insurance for the trip.

ABOUT THE SELECTION PROCESS 
    • Media selections will be made from the pool of applications received.
    • All applications will be considered, reviewed, and selected with the destination partner.
    • After initial evaluation, criteria used in the final media curation and selection includes:
        • Representation from the specific countries listed above (limited per country).
        • A diversity of types of media, specialties/topics covered, narratives, audiences, and outlets, with a higher ratio of traditional media to influencers & bloggers.
        • A mix of media new to ATTA events with those who have attended prior events.
    • Due to the limited number of official media delegate spots and the large quantity of applications typically received, not all qualified applications will be selected.
    • You will receive an email from the ATTA informing you of the status of your application.
