AdventureELEVATE North America

Wrap Up

BOLDLY FLOWING

For our first AdventureELEVATE in the southeast corner of the United States, 280 adventure travel industry professionals from 37 countries gathered from 11-14 June, 2024 for the ninth annual AdventureELEVATE in the vibrant, and historical region of Asheville, North Carolina, against the backdrop of the ancient and awe-inspiring Blue Ridge Mountains. Asheville boasts the French Broad River, one of the world's oldest rivers, boldly flowing north instead of south. Just as in the adventure business, embracing the flow is a paradox of being in harmony with nature and knowingly going against the grain. As we met among the mountains and rivers of Western North Carolina this year, artisans of adventure gathered to guide teams and communities forward, boldly flowing with creativity, inspiration, and determination.

Considered one of North America’s most important and practical professional adventure travel events, the AdventureELEVATE event invited participants to be inspired by thought leaders, partake in provocative breakout sessions and engage in fruitful networking opportunities. The Makers' Market invited delegates to explore locally made products, from handmade jewelry and apparel to grab-and-go sleep gear and cup cozies made from upcycled ropeware.

The area, brimming with boldly flowing rivers and towering mountains; small towns with big, diverse personalities and a vibrant art scene; entrepreneurs and artisians committed to land stewardship and innovation rooted in the rich local history, lent itself to an amazing Day of Adventure including options for whitewater rafting, foraging and food tasting, e-biking, hiking, forest bathing and an urban arts tour. This year’s event theme – BOLDLY FLOWING – was woven into this intimate event by way of thought-leading educational sessions and creative networking opportunities with plenty of time for fresh air and local exploration.
