Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive in Registro city
AdventureWeek São Paulo, Ribeira Valley begins with your arrival and reception at the airport in São Paulo, Brazil. A transfer will take you to the Ribeira Valley region. You will arrive in Registro city, where you will have dinner and rest from your trip.

Day 2 – Cananeia city/Boat tour/ Bike tour/ Wildlife/ Local village
After breakfast, the group will be transferred to Cananeia, one of the oldest settlements of Brazil. The first settlers arrived in the very beginning of the 1500s. In Cananeia, there will be 2 options, a boat tour (with an opportunity to observe dolphins) or a cycling experience on the beach. Both groups will visit a fishing village, try their local food and learn about their traditional way of life. After these fun activities, the group will have dinner and rest at their hotel.

Day 3 – Iguape city / Hiking in the Atlantic Rainforest / Hiking in the dunes
After breakfast, the group will go to Iguape, a national heritage city that has a very interesting historic center, with preserved houses from the end of the 18th century, a period where the area lived its Gold Cycle. The group will hike around 2,5 km through the Atlantic Rainforest, observing along the way various species of flora, such as bromeliads and orchids, as well as glimpsing the landscape of the entire city from the Pedra Lisa viewpoint. After the hike and a delicious lunch in the historical downtown area, the group will leave for another hike, at this time in the dunes of Araçá. During this hike, the participants can see some wildlife (like owls that have nests on the sand) and an incredible view of open sea and some smaller beaches. After enjoying the sunset at this beautiful place, the participants will go to their hotel for dinner and some rest.

Day 4 – PETAR Park / Caverna do Diabo State Park/ River Floating / Bioluminescent Mushrooms
After breakfast, the participants can choose 2 options. For the first one, the participants will be transferred to a very well preserved area of the Atlantic Rainforest, the PETAR park, which was created in 1958 and has more than 35,750 hectares. PETAR is also a UNESCO site. This group will explore the Caverna do Diabo State Park, where there is one of the largest (6000+ meters!) caves in Brazil, and considered one of the most beautiful in the world for its gigantic formations. The participants will go through the meanders of the river to a 5m waterfall inside the cave, called Garganta do Diabo. This group will also have the opportunity to do a 10m rapel inside the cave. For the second option, the participants will leave after breakfast to Iporanga city, which is also by the PETAR park area. There, the group will go river floating, with tubes, along the Betari river. This river has pristine clear waters, very well preserved forest on its banks, and class I and II rapids. It will be a whole day of fun in the water. At night both groups will have the option to go on a tour to experience the bioluminescent mushrooms that are found in the region.

Day 5 – Birdwatching /Hike/ PETAR Park/ Caving
Before breakfast, the participants who are interested can join a birdwatching tour. After breakfast, the participants can choose 2 options. The first one will be a hike through the Betari River Valley, during the hike, the participants will cross the river a few times and will be able to visit a few caves and waterfalls along the way, one of them is 45m long! The second option is also in PETAR Park, and also another caving experience, but in this case, a whole day tour, visiting Temimina cave, which has large halls and a very rare speleothem that creates a natural shower on the ceiling of the cave. Not to mention the huge skylight at the entrance, which allows the entry of light and the formation of a “hanging garden” inside the cave. After the tours, both groups return to the hotel for dinner and a good night of sleep.

Day 6 – Japanese Community Tea tour / Canyoning / Rafting
After breakfast, the group will be transferred to the city of Registro, where they will have a tour and learn about the Japanese community and its local production of tea. After the tour and some lunch, the participants can choose 2 options. First option is to get on a transfer and go to Juquiá city for a canyoning experience, the group will rappel down a waterfall called Kurupira. This is a 40m waterfall in the middle of the Atlantic Rainforest. The second option will take the participants to Juquiá city too, but for a rafting tour on the river that gives the town the same name. Rafting in Juquiá river is recognized as the most traditional rafting route in Brazil. The view of the Atlantic Forest is remarkable and several species of birds can be observed during the descent. After this fun day, all participants will be taken to Legado das Aguas, the largest private reserve of Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil.

Day 7 – Hike / Canoeing
After breakfast, the participants will be transferred to a trail head, called Trilha Cachoeira Dezembro. This is a 3 hour hike that goes through the Atlantic Rainforest and its incredible biodiversity. The participants will be able bathe in natural pools along the way! After the tour and lunch, the participants will go canoeing on the Juquiá River. After this great experience, the participants will return to Registro city where they will have dinner and rest at the hotel.

Day 8 – Marketplace / Transfer to São Paulo city
After breakfast, the participants will be transferred to the venue where the marketplace will happen. During the marketplace, all participants will meet with local suppliers. After the meetings and lunch, the participants will be transferred to São Paulo city.There they will rest and freshen up for a special dinner at night.

Day 9 – Bike Tour in Sao Paulo / Special closing event

As Sao Paulo has been working hard to create bike lanes and transform the way “Paulistas” move around the city, participants will have the chance to experience it through a bike tour in the main areas of this metropole.

From Av. Paulista, we will go through Ibirapuera Park, Marginal Pinheiros cycle path and finish it in Vila Madalena (the bohemian neighborhood of Sao Paulo), where we will have lunch. After lunch, we will have a walking tour to see the beautiful street art that decorates the region. After the tour, transfer back to the accommodation.

At night, before we say goodbye, São Paulo prepared a special event to celebrate this great AdventureWeek!

Day 10 – Transfer to the airport / Departure
AdventureWeek participants will be transferred to the airport accordingly to each individual departure flight.
