Sustainability has always been core to the values of the Adventure Travel Trade Association and its members. Since our founding, we have advocated for sustainable destination development through research, events, and educational offerings, while supporting local champions around the world to advance sustainable development in tourism.

When it comes to our events, whether virtual or in person, we aim through our operational practices and event content to:

• Maximize social and economic benefits to the local community and minimize negative impacts
• Maximize benefits to cultural heritage and minimize negative impacts
• Maximize benefits to the environment and minimize negative impacts

Climate action is a particular area of focus for us with respect to event sustainability. Given that a stable climate is central to the sustainability of all aspects of life we remain committed in our virtual and in-person events to doing all we can to address current and past carbon impacts through a combination of natural and technical solutions, using tools accessible to our community, Neutral Together and Tomorrow’s Air.
